SARAID sign another Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

Making sure that humanitarian work has no boundaries SARAID has continued its partnering around the world in order to increase its absorption of knowledge and to cooperate with other localities and with other nations.logo gerar curva

On April 25, 2012 we signed an agreement (Memorandum Of Understanding) with the team Grupo Voluntário de Busca e Salvamento GERAR (GVBS) in Brasil through National Director Gary Francis. This agreement will allow the exchange of knowledge between the teams and mutual aid in actual search and rescue operations.

More information about GERAR (GVBS) can be found on their website: http://projetogerar.com.br/site/

A big thank you to the Emergency Services Show

Last summer SARAID attended the Emergency Services Show at Hullavington Airfield, Wiltshire – we've just heard from the show committee that they are donating £750 to us! This is a fantastic contribution to our work and is really very much appreciated.

The show is supported by Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police and the Great Western Ambulance Service; with the primary aim of educating members of the public about many aspects of community safety.ESS logo

This is a spectacular family fun day event which allows you to get 'behind the scenes' and gain unique insight and knowledge of how the blue light services work in partnership to protect you and the community.

All proceeds raised from the show are donated to charities connected with the blue light services. In September 2010, approximately 10,000 people attended, and as a result of that, cheques totaling over £17,000 were presented to 15 charities. These charities included the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, South-West volunteer Search & Rescue Teams, 'Caring 4 Kids' campaign and the Bobby Van Trust to name a few. Since the show started back in 2005, over £42,000 has been donated to charity.

If you'd like to find out more about the show, the work of the Emergency Services or want to plan a brilliant day out for the family, please visit the Emergency Services Show website: http://www.emergencyservicesshow.com

Our thanks go out again from everyone here at SARAID to all those at the Emergency Services Show, without their support and that of others our vital search and rescue work would not be possible.

Thank you
