Congratulations to Duncan L who is the lucky winner of the raffle. Thank you for contributing to our work and enjoy your prize!

To everyone else who donated, thank you so much for your generosity, it's really appreciated.

In the meantime if you haven't donated yet, although the raffle has ended, the project still continues so if you would like to make a donation to this great project that would be brilliant. Thanks !

A few words from our patron

SARAID’s patron Extreme Diver, TV Presenter and Adventurer, Andy Torbet was keen to be involved in helping raise funds for the training to continue.

What it's all about

Whilst deploying to assist with Search and Rescue after the 2014 Nepal Earthquake, SARAID became aware of the activities of Nepal Scouts who were helping to assist in the earthquake relief efforts .

True to the aims of Scouting and Guiding, members of Nepal Scouts came together and helped in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake and in the rebuilding phase after the disaster.

Recognizing the contribution that the Scouts made, SARAID wanted to help Nepal Scouts further develop rescue and medical skills so that they could be even more effective when the next earthquake hits Nepal.

Working with Nepal Scouts, SARAID helped develop a specific Scout Medical and Rescue Techniques course (known as SMART), that would be delivered by SARAID to Scouters, Rovers, Rangers and Scouts in Nepal.

We recently ran a pilot course at Sundarijal Scout training Centre, 15km North East from Kathmandu, for more than 60 participants which proved to be a great success.

Going forward SARAID would like to repeat the course, running it 2 or 3 times a year training another 60 or so participants each time. To do this we need your help.
